Sarnia falls to LaSalle in overtime, 4-3 (OT)

The LaSalle Vipers' Brett Primeau scored 3:09 into overtime to beat the Sarnia Legionnaires, 4-3 (OT).

After the loss made the series score 3-2 in the best of seven series, Sarnia faces elimination next time out.

Primeau was all over the ice for LaSalle, as he finished with two goals in the win.

The Legionnaires were unable to stop the Vipers from sending pucks towards the net, and LaSalle eventually piled up 48 shots on goal.

LaSalle also got points from Brendan Harrogate, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Korey Morgan also scored for LaSalle. In addition, LaSalle received assists from Mark Manchurek, who had two, Chris Pignanelli, who had three, and Nicolas Crescenzi and Daniel Beaudoin, who contributed one each.

Sarnia was helped by Ryan Trottier, who had two goals. Trottier scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 15:42 into the first period to make the score 1-1. A cross checking penalty on Pignanelli had put the Legionnaires on the power play. Davis Boyer provided the assist. Trottier's next tally on the power play made the score 2-2 with 11 seconds left in the second period. Cameron Clarke picked up the assist. Sarnia additionally got points from Cody Trowell, who also grabbed one goal and two assists. Other players who recorded assists for Sarnia were Mitch Read, who had one.

The Vipers' Paolo Battisti stopped 19 shots out of the 22 that he faced. LaSalle incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Andrew Masters recorded 44 saves for Sarnia. The Legionnaires incurred 44 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Team's Brandon Layman and Tyler Prong were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game.
