Erick Delaurentis racked up one point to lead the Caledonia Corvairs to a 2-1 victory over the Ancaster Avalanche. The win gave Caledonia a 1-0 lead in the best of seven series. The Corvairs' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five Ancaster power plays. Caledonia's offense rang up 39 shots on Ancaster's net. Caledonia also got a goal from Connor Patton as well. In addition, Caledonia received assists from Connor Bramwell, Ryan Blunt, Tyler Lepore, and Matthew Hore, who each chipped in one. The Avalanche put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Corvairs to score on any of their four power plays. Ancaster was led by Chris Klack, who scored the team's only goal. Klack scored 53 seconds into the first period to make the score 1-0 Ancaster. Ben Hughes assisted on the tally. Kevin Entmaa recorded 20 saves for Caledonia. The Corvairs incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Blake Richard made 37 saves for the Avalanche on 39 shots. Ancaster incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. For the Avalanche, Cole Nagy was ejected from the game. |
