New Hampshire's Tyler Burton scored 3:13 into overtime to beat Cape Cod, 2-1 (OT). After the loss made the series score 1-0 in the best of three series, Cape Cod faces elimination next time out. Cape Cod was stymied by New Hampshire's netminder Adam Higdon, who stopped 32 shots during the victory. Higdon certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 1.3 entering the contest. New Hampshire was led by Burton, who tallied one goal. Cape Cod was unable to stop New Hampshire from sending pucks towards the net, and New Hampshire eventually piled up 46 shots on goal. New Hampshire also got a goal from Simon Campbell as well. In addition, New Hampshire received assists from Tim Casey and Mike Callaghan, who contributed one each. Cape Cod forced New Hampshire goalie Higdon to work between the pipes, taking 33 shots. Cape Cod was led by Isaac Bosse, who scored the team's only goal. Bosse scored 1:02 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Cape Cod. Jordy Knoren picked up the assist. New Hampshire ended with no penalties and went 0-for-0 on the power play. Patrick Spaulding rejected 44 shots on goal for Cape Cod. Cape Cod avoided the penalty box for the entire game and scored zero goals off of zero power plays. |
