Amante lifts Leamington over London, 2-1

Mitchell Amante was all over the ice for the Leamington Flyers, as he tallied two goals in Leamington's 2-1 win over the London Nationals.

Amante found the back of the net on the power play 16:30 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Leamington and again while 17:28 into the third to make the score 3-1 Leamington.

The win moved the Flyers to down 2-1 in the best of seven series.

Leamington's penalty kill excelled, as the Flyers gave up one goal despite allowing six power plays.

Leamington also got a goal from Kyle Quick as well. In addition, Leamington received assists from Tyler Duarte, who had two and Eric Henderson and Chris Scott, who each chipped in one.

London was led by Justin Murray, who scored the team's only goal. Murray scored on the power play 17:55 into the first period to make the score 1-1. An elbowing penalty on Quick had put the Nationals on the power play. Derek Todosichuk provided the assist.

Michael Barrett made 23 saves for Leamington on 24 shots. The Flyers incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Justin Tugwell rejected 28 shots on goal for London. The Nationals incurred 24 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
