Liberty University downs Miami University, 4-1

Courtney Gilmour finished with one point to lead the Liberty University Flames to a 4-1 victory over the Miami University RedHawks.

Liberty University stifled Miami University's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

Liberty University also got points from Clarissa Tipping, who also registered one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Others who scored for Liberty University included Carrie Jickling and Chelsey Greenwood, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Liberty University were Madison Fischer, who had two and Jenny Macarthur, Sarah Stevenson, Catharine Burrell, and Brittany Hymers, who contributed one each.

The RedHawks managed to stay out of the box better than usual, registering one minor for two minutes in penalty time. Miami University ended up below its season average of 8.0 penalty minutes per game. The RedHawks gave up more goals than its normal season average. Miami University averages 1.5 goal allowed per game.

The RedHawks were led by Hayley Williams, who scored the team's only goal. Williams scored 2:57 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Liberty University. Kaley Mooney assisted on the tally.

Chantal Lischynski rejected 24 shots on goal for the Flames. Liberty University incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Emalee Wills took the loss and made three saves before being replaced by Carly Vanorden who made 12 saves. Miami University registered zero goals on four power play opportunities.
