North Dakota State University takes care of West Chester University early, wins 8-1

North Dakota State University opened up a five-goal lead after the first period and did not look back en route to an 8-1 win over West Chester University.

Kacie Johnson was all over the ice for North Dakota State University, as he registered seven goals in the win. Johnson got on the scoresheet 3:22 into the first period. He then added goals at 11:07 into the first, at 18:25 into the first, at 19:48 into the first, at 15:19 into the second, at 7:21 into the third, and at 11:58 into the third.

North Dakota State University managed to stay out of the box better than usual, finishing with one minor for two minutes in penalty time. North Dakota State University finished below its season average of 4.0 penalty minutes per game. West Chester University was unable to stop North Dakota State University from sending pucks towards the net, and North Dakota State University eventually piled up 40 shots on goal. North Dakota State University found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season.
