Oklahoma City Blazers rolls over Springfield Express, 10-4

Oklahoma City Blazers had a four-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 10-4 win over Springfield Express.

After the loss made the series score 1-0 in the best of three series, Springfield Express faces elimination next time out.

Victor Ekk had one goal and three assists to lead Oklahoma City Blazers. Ekk scored 5:13 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Oklahoma City Blazers. Ivan Bukshevannyy provided the assist.

Springfield Express fell victim to a deadly Oklahoma City Blazers power play, which ripped Springfield Express for four goals.

Oklahoma City Blazers forced Springfield Express' netminders to work hard to keep the puck out of the net, launching 40 shots and forcing 30 saves. Bobby Dugan made 24 stops and Oliver Eklund made six.

Oklahoma City Blazers also got points from Dylan Lamontagne, who also registered one goal and one assist, Bukshevannyy, who also racked up two goals and two assists, Petr Kobes, who also registered one goal and one assist, and Kirill Romanov, who also grabbed one goal and four assists to lead the team in points. Others who scored for Oklahoma City Blazers included Matthew Audette, who had two and Sam Mancini and Luke Galatiuk, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Oklahoma City Blazers were Drake Johnson, who had three and Hunter Smith, Kole Hudson, Johan Sorkin, and Miroslav Pokorny, who each chipped in one.

Springfield Express was helped by Vito DeVito, who tallied one goal. DeVito scored on the power play 18:40 into the first period to make the score 4-2 Oklahoma City Blazers. Springfield Express had taken the advantage when Oklahoma City Blazers' Kobes got sent off for slashing. David Higgs picked up the assist. Springfield Express additionally got points from Per Eriksson, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Springfield Express also had goals scored by Eric Hewitt and Seth Ensor, who each put in one. In addition, Springfield Express received assists from Tobias Sjolund, who had two and Alexander Lobachev and Linus Dahlberg, who contributed one each.

Oklahoma City Blazers' starting goalie, Jakub Krejci, made 22 saves and finished with the win before he was taken out in favor of Braden Lajoie, who stopped four shots. Oklahoma City Blazers ended with 25 minutes in penalty time with 10 minors and one major. Springfield Express incurred 30 minutes in penalty time with 10 minors. For Springfield Express, Ensor was ejected from the game.
