M2 Liberty University beats M2 New York University 9-1 as Docksteader gets hat trick

Devon Docksteader netted a hat trick to lead M2 Liberty University over M2 New York University, 9-1.

Docksteader notched his first tally 11:19 into the first period. He then added goals at 1:57 into the third and at 5:08 into the third.

M2 New York University was stymied by M2 Liberty University's netminder Blair Bennett, who stopped 28 shots during the victory. The solid play of Bennett will be reflected in his goals against average, which pre-game was 2.88.

M2 Liberty University forced M2 New York University's netminders to work hard to keep the puck out of the net, totaling 31 shots and forcing 22 saves. Alec Hardman made 17 stops and Alexander Pepper made five. M2 Liberty University excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. M2 Liberty University outdid its season average for goals scored. M2 Liberty University averages 4.7 goals per game.

M2 Liberty University additionally got points from Clinton Nigh, who also racked up one goal and one assist, Johnny Cotton, who also registered one goal and two assists, and Paul Ingles, who also had one goal and three assists to lead the team in points. M2 Liberty University also had goals scored by Tim Bierema, William Bray, and Jordan Barstead, who scored one goal each. In addition, M2 Liberty University received assists from Lucas Ebel, Ryan Sidun, Josh King, Erik Burke, Daniel Huntington, Adam Gnatowski, Ben Freymond, and Caleb Grow, who contributed one each.
