Huge game by Nolan boosts Fresno Monsters over San Diego Gulls, 12-1

Behind a great game by Mike Nolan, who had two goals and one assist, Fresno Monsters defeated San Diego Gulls, 12-1.

Nolan scored short handed at 5:25 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Fresno Monsters and again while 13:39 into the third to make the score 11-1 Fresno Monsters.

The win by Fresno Monsters clinched the best of three series at 2-0.

San Diego Gulls' power play was ineffective against Fresno Monsters' penalty kill, which allowed one goal while shorthanded.

San Diego Gulls was unable to stop Fresno Monsters from sending pucks towards the net, and Fresno Monsters eventually piled up 76 shots on goal. Fresno Monsters got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game.

Fresno Monsters also got points from Dan Fitzgerald, who also finished with one goal and three assists, Parker Olson, who also racked up three goals and one assist to lead the team in points, Mark Shroyer, who also had one goal and two assists, and Kyle Baker, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Fresno Monsters included Jacob Haynes, who had two and Carter Dahl and Conner Hyden, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Fresno Monsters were Kyle Jelinski, who had three, Brantt Heble and Gianmarco Guidon, who each chipped in one, and Michael Freeman, Evan Ingram, and Mitchell Dolman, who contributed two each.

San Diego Gulls' offense was handcuffed by Fresno Monsters' defensive play, and San Diego Gulls managed only 13 shots on goal during the game.

San Diego Gulls was led by Filip Masek, who scored the team's only goal. Masek scored on the power play 17:24 into the first period to make the score 1-1. San Diego Gulls had gained a power play chance when Bench was whistled for too many men. Tyler Kubara picked up the assist.
