Colorado RoughRiders downs Salt Lake City Moose in overtime, 4-3 (OT)

Colorado RoughRiders pulled out a 4-3 (OT) overtime victory over Salt Lake City Moose on a clutch goal by Thayne Trumbull.

With the win, Colorado RoughRiders avoided elimination to make the series score 1-1 in the best of three series.

Colorado RoughRiders overcame a three-goal deficit to capture the victory. Colorado RoughRiders fell behind 3-0 after a goal by Salt Lake City Moose's Ross Gann at 4:22 in the second period. Colorado RoughRiders tied things up at 3-3 on a goal by Charles Joly at 3:29 in the third period.

Colorado RoughRiders was paced by Trumbull, who finished with one goal. Trumbull scored 13:22 into overtime to make the score 4-3 Colorado RoughRiders. Aidan Doughty assisted on the tally.

Colorado RoughRiders excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. Colorado RoughRiders kept Salt Lake City Moose's goalie busy throughout the game, and Brad Robertson made 65 saves on 69 shots.

Colorado RoughRiders also had goals scored by Christian Akita and Nick Kukuris, who scored one goal each. More assists for Colorado RoughRiders came via Blake Couture, who had one and Walker Harris, who had two.

Salt Lake City Moose forced Colorado RoughRiders goalie Kirill Pustovalov to work between the pipes, taking 41 shots.

Salt Lake City Moose was helped by Zach Ahiers, who grabbed one goal. Ahiers scored 17:33 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Salt Lake City Moose. Ryan Solomon picked up the assist. Salt Lake City Moose also got a goal from Brett Myer as well. In addition, Salt Lake City Moose received assists from Dmitry Kuznetsov, who had two and Erik Ahlen, Jurijs Moiseicenko, and Devan Beck, who each chipped in one.

Pustovalov recorded 38 saves for Colorado RoughRiders. Colorado RoughRiders totaled 23 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major and went 0-for-2 on the power play. Salt Lake City Moose ended with 21 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major.
