Ontario Avalanche beats Las Vegas Storm 4-0 as Cepila gains shutout

Ontario Avalanche used a sparkling performance by Daniel Cepila to take down Las Vegas Storm, as the netminder did not allow a goal in Ontario Avalanche's 4-0 shutout victory.

After the loss made the series score 1-0 in the best of three series, Las Vegas Storm faces elimination next time out.

Nick Anderson had two goals to lead Ontario Avalanche to victory. Anderson found the back of the net 15:38 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Ontario Avalanche and again while 19:45 into the third to make the score 4-0 Ontario Avalanche.

Ontario Avalanche excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. Ontario Avalanche kept Las Vegas Storm's goalie busy throughout the game, and Patrik Jokela made 46 saves on 50 shots.

Ontario Avalanche also got points from Antoine Maillard, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Michael Thomas also scored for Ontario Avalanche. In addition, Ontario Avalanche received assists from Basil Reynolds, who had one and Henning Danielsson, Adam Plonski, and Marc Janisch, who each chipped in two.

Cepila recorded 25 saves for Ontario Avalanche. Ontario Avalanche incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Las Vegas Storm incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
