Alliston outlasts Schomberg, 3-2

The game between the Alliston Hornets and the Schomberg Cougars was tight through all 60 minutes, but in the end Alliston emerged with a 3-2 win.

Each team kept the other at bay throughout the game, and Nick Arcan secured the win for the Hornets with a goal in the third period.

The win by Alliston clinched the best of seven series at 4-0.

The Hornets were paced by Arcan, who grabbed one goal and one assist. Arcan scored 8:18 into the third period to make the score 3-2 Alliston. Jacob Tuck assisted on the tally.

Schomberg was unable to stop Alliston from sending pucks towards the net, and the Hornets eventually piled up 33 shots on goal.

Alliston additionally got points from Tuck, who also registered one goal and one assist. Alliston also got a goal from Steve Griggs as well. More assists for Alliston came via Jamie Bennett and Connor Annett, who each chipped in one.

The Cougars' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Alliston power plays.

Schomberg was helped by Kiefer McIntosh, who racked up one goal. McIntosh scored on the power play 7:11 into the third period to make the score 2-2. The Cougars earned a power play opportunity when Brendan Spencer was put in the box for interference. Justin Formenton picked up the assist. Michael Longato also scored for Schomberg. In addition, Schomberg received assists from JP Crescenzi and Blake Culley, who contributed one each.

Tyler Brindle recorded 21 saves for Alliston. The Hornets incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Taylor Ewart made 30 saves for Schomberg on 33 shots. The Cougars incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
