Grimsby downs Dundas in overtime, 2-1 (OT)

The Grimsby Peach Kings' Christian Gaetano scored 19:38 into overtime to beat the Dundas Blues, 2-1 (OT).

The win by Grimsby broke a deadlock and gave the Peach Kings a 2-1 advantage in the best of seven series.

Grimsby's Jeremy Currie was a brick wall in net, as he came up with 53 saves and let only one puck past him. Currie certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 1.59 entering the contest.

The Peach Kings were led by Gaetano, who registered one goal and one assist.

Grimsby put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Dundas to score on any of its five power plays. The Peach Kings forced the Blues goalie Brock Novak to work between the pipes, taking 54 shots.

Andrew McMurtrie also scored for Grimsby. In addition, Grimsby received assists from Jeromy Hopkins, Nicholas Purves, and Malcolm Lynett, who contributed one each.

Grimsby was unable to stop Dundas from sending pucks towards the net, and the Blues eventually piled up 54 shots on goal.

Dundas was led by Kevin Jaczenko, who scored the team's only goal. Jaczenko scored 4:18 into the third period to make the score 1-0 Dundas. Matt Johnson picked up the assist.

The Peach Kings incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Novak rejected 52 shots on goal for the Blues. Dundas incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
