Mooney's goals lift Miami University to 7-0 victory over Minnesota University of

Kaley Mooney had two goals to lead the Miami University RedHawks to a 7-0 victory over the Minnesota University of Golden Gophers.

Mooney scored at 12:08 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Miami University and again while 15:00 into the first to make the score 2-0 Miami University.

Miami University forced Golden Gophers' goalies to work hard to keep the puck out of the net, ripping 50 shots and forcing 43 saves. Lydia Norwig made 32 stops and Molly Westfield made 11. The RedHawks surpassed their usual scoring output this season. Miami University has scored at the pace of 3.6 goals per game during the current campaign.

Miami University also got points from Hayley Williams, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Miami University also had goals scored by Carly Noble, who had two and Becca Senden and Jordan Hanson, who each put in one. More assists for Miami University came via Kathleen Baldwin, Caitlin Karpinski, and Jessica Gould, who each chipped in one and Rachael Booth and Katie Augustine, who contributed two each.

Emalee Wills made 15 saves for the RedHawks on 15 shots. Miami University incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Minnesota University of incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
