The Massachusetts University of Minutemen and the Penn State University Nitty Lions skate to 3-3 (OT) tie

Massachusetts University of found itself down againt Penn State University, but battled back to secure to a 3-3 (OT) tie.

The Nitty Lions were unable to stop the Minutemen from sending pucks towards the net, and Massachusetts University of eventually piled up 40 shots on goal.

The Minutemen were led by Amanda Abromson, who finished with two goals. Abromson scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 7:34 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Massachusetts University of had gained a power play chance when Madison Smiddy was whistled for tripping. Paige Harrington assisted on the tally. Abromson's next tally on the power play made the score 3-3 with 1:07 left in the third period. Meghan Crosby also scored for Massachusetts University of. Other players who recorded assists for Massachusetts University of were Alyxandra Rivard and Caleigh Labossiere, who each chipped in one.

Penn State University got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game.

The Nitty Lions were led by Cara Mendelson, who grabbed two goals. Mendelson scored the first of his two goals at 15:56 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Penn State University. Riley OConnor picked up the assist. Mendelson's next tally made the score 2-1 Penn State University with 2:51 left in the second period. Penn State University also got a goal from Devon Fisk as well. In addition, Penn State University received assists from Darby Kern, who had one.

Kasey Zegel rejected 25 shots on goal for the Minutemen. Massachusetts University of incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Penn State University's Mary Kate Tonetti stopped 37 shots out of the 40 that he faced. The Nitty Lions incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
