Spellacy lifts M1 Ohio University over M1 Liberty University, 5-2

Behind a great game by Patrick Spellacy, who had two goals, the M1 Ohio University Bobcats defeated the M1 Liberty University Flames, 5-2.

Spellacy scored on the power play at 19:23 into the second period to make the score 2-2 and again while 11:20 into the third to make the score 4-2 M1 Ohio University.

M1 Ohio University's offense was clicking better than usual and put 40 shots on goal during the game, better than the 5.0 shots per game it averages.

M1 Ohio University also got points from Michael Harris, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. M1 Ohio University also had goals scored by Derek Rahme and Michael Palasics, who scored one goal each. More assists for M1 Ohio University came via Joey Breslin, who had two and Mike Kretz, Mike LaFrenier, Logan Pfeffer, and Tom Whetsel, who contributed one each.

M1 Liberty University could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 14 minutes in penalties during the game. By firing 31 shots on goal, the Flames exceeded the 2.0 shots they average per game this year.

M1 Liberty University was helped by Ryan Kerr, who had one goal. Kerr scored 15:21 into the first period to make the score 2-0 M1 Liberty University. Christian Garland provided the assist. Grant Garvin also scored for M1 Liberty University. Other players who recorded assists for M1 Liberty University were Chase Harris, Kyle Miller, and Robert Ward, who each chipped in one.

Ryan Heltion made 29 saves for the Bobcats on 31 shots. M1 Ohio University incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. The Flames' Matt Pinel stopped 35 shots out of the 40 that he faced. M1 Liberty University registered one goal on three power play opportunities.
