Maya Patel scored the go-ahead goal in the first period, and WHITBY held off the challenges of BURLINGTON in a tough 2-0 win.

A goal 8:26 into the first period by Patel proved to be the game winner, and powered WHITBY to the victory. Rhyen McGill(C) provided the assist.

After the loss made the series score 2-0 in the best of five series, BURLINGTON faces elimination next time out.

WHITBY was paced by Patel, who registered one goal.

WHITBY's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four BURLINGTON power plays.

Emily Volpe also scored for WHITBY. More assists for WHITBY came via Victoria Howran and Jaimie Grigsby, who contributed one each.

WHITBY's Rachel McQuigge stopped 19 shots out of the 19 that she faced. WHITBY incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Holly Scott rejected 25 shots on goal for BURLINGTON. BURLINGTON incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
