Delaurier's goals lift Kitchener to 4-1 victory over Listowel

The Kitchener Dutchmen relied on the scoring touch of Jordan Delaurier, who netted two goals, to beat the Listowel Cyclones, 4-1.

Delaurier's tallies came at 15:53 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Kitchener and short handed 14:53 into the second to make the score 2-1 Kitchener.

The win gave Kitchener a 1-0 lead in the best of seven series.

The Dutchmen's penalty kill excelled, as Kitchener gave up zero goals despite allowing seven power plays.

The Dutchmen stifled Listowel's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Kitchener forced the Cyclones goalie Tyler Fassl to work between the pipes, taking 36 shots.

Kitchener additionally got points from Adam Kawalec, who also had one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Alex Demrovsky also scored for Kitchener. Other players who recorded assists for Kitchener were Scott Pedersen, Mitchell Smith, and Keegan Calder, who each chipped in one.

Listowel was led by Jamie Huber, who scored the team's only goal. Huber scored 18:21 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Brad Yowart assisted on the tally.

Jackson McIntosh recorded 19 saves for the Dutchmen. Kitchener incurred 24 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Tyler Fassl made 32 saves for the Cyclones on 36 shots. Listowel incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
