St. Andrews College holds on for 4-3 win against Nichols School

The St. Andrews College Saints survived a determined comeback attempt by the Nichols School Vikings on the way to a 4-3 win.

St. Andrews College made the score 4-1 on a goal by Darren Iwai at 9:31 in the second period, and Nichols School got as close as 4-3 when Ross Cominsky scored 16:32 into the third period.

The Saints were led by Griffin James, who had one goal. James scored 1:08 into the first period to make the score 1-0 St. Andrews College. Quentin Campbell picked up the assist.

St. Andrews College's offense rang up 36 shots on the Vikings' net. The Saints' defense let in more goals than it usually has this year. St. Andrews College is averaging 0.8 goals against for the season. The Saints could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 16 minutes in penalties during the game.

St. Andrews College also had goals scored by JD Falconer and Justin Fregona, who each put in one. In addition, St. Andrews College received assists from Otto Saarimaa, Adam Sinclair, Austin Cho, and Mac Lewis, who contributed one each.

Nichols School's defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals.

The Vikings were led by Keaton Arkeilpane, who racked up one goal and two assists. Arkeilpane scored 9:44 into the second period to make the score 4-2 St. Andrews College. Harrison Oates provided the assist. Nichols School also got a goal from Anthony Scanzuso as well. More assists for Nichols School came via Erik Urbank, who had one.

Matthew Galajda made 27 saves for St. Andrews College on 30 shots. The Saints registered one goal on two power play opportunities. Nichols School's Michael Stachera stopped 32 shots out of the 36 that he faced. The Vikings incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
