ETOBICOKE survived a determined comeback attempt by CAMBRIDGE on the way to a 3-2 win. ETOBICOKE took a 3-0 lead during the third period, only to have CAMBRIDGE storm back on a Miranda Lantz (A) goal 9:12 into the third period to pull to one goal down. The win gave ETOBICOKE a 1-0 lead in the best of five series. CAMBRIDGE's defense shut down ETOBICOKE's forwards for much of the game, and ETOBICOKE got off only 14 shots during the contest. ETOBICOKE was helped by Willow Corson, who had one goal. Corson scored 13:26 into the first period to make the score 1-0 ETOBICOKE. Emilia Cotter (A) picked up the assist. ETOBICOKE also had goals scored by Rachel Colle and Elizabeth Gerace, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for ETOBICOKE were Erin Locke (A), who had two and Emily Landry (A) and Tegan Duncan, who each chipped in one. CAMBRIDGE stifled ETOBICOKE's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. CAMBRIDGE's offense rang up 33 shots on ETOBICOKE's net. CAMBRIDGE was helped by Nicole Zabel, who registered one goal. Zabel scored 4:30 into the third period to make the score 3-1 ETOBICOKE. Natasha Costello provided the assist. In addition, CAMBRIDGE received assists from Alyssa Chiarello (A) and Brooklyn Davis, who contributed one each. ETOBICOKE's Christie Honor stopped 31 shots out of the 33 that she faced. ETOBICOKE incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Julia Vandyk made 11 saves for CAMBRIDGE on 14 shots. CAMBRIDGE incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. |
