Huge game by Pageau boosts Stoney Creek over Brantford, 7-4

The Stoney Creek Generals' Nathan Pageau had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing two assists in his team's 7-4 win over the Brantford Blast.

Pageau's tallies came at 14:17 into the first period to make the score 1-1 and 11:54 into the third to make the score 5-3 Stoney Creek.

With the win, Stoney Creek evened the series at 1-1 in the best of seven showdown.

The Generals forced Brantford goalie Anthony Marshall to work between the pipes, taking 33 shots. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals.

Stoney Creek also got points from Dylan Gilbert, who also registered one goal and three assists, Kyle Zettler, who also finished with one goal and one assist, and Chris Knighton, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Sean Blanchard also scored for Stoney Creek. Other players who recorded assists for Stoney Creek were Mike Ruberto, who had four and Nikola Bibic, Jeff Leaist, and Tony Iaquinto, who contributed one each.

The Blast were helped by Chris Rebernik, who tallied two goals and one assist. Rebernik scored the first of his two goals at 3:54 into the third period to make the score 4-3 Stoney Creek. Cam Sault provided the assist. Rebernik's next tally made the score 5-4 Stoney Creek with 7:03 left in the third period. Sault picked up the assist. Brantford additionally got points from Sault, who also had one goal and two assists. Brantford also got a goal from Joel Prpic as well. In addition, Brantford received assists from Kyle Montpetit, who had two and Derek Medeiros, Mike Burgoyne, and Chris Leveille, who each chipped in one.

Dan Earles made 19 saves for Stoney Creek on 23 shots. The Generals incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Brantford's Marshall stopped 26 shots out of the 33 that he faced. The Blast incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
