Caledonia takes care of Pelham early, wins 18-0

The Pelham Panthers fell behind early, and the Caledonia Corvairs kept piling on the points on the way to a 18-0 victory.

After the loss made the series score 3-0 in the best of seven series, Pelham faces elimination next time out.

Tyler Lepore had two goals and two assists to lead Caledonia. Lepore scored the first of his two goals at 2:37 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Caledonia. Matthew Hore assisted on the tally. Lepore's next tally made the score 8-0 Caledonia with 17:48 left in the second period. Hore picked up the assist.

The Corvairs' penalty kill excelled, as Caledonia gave up zero goals despite allowing six power plays.

Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 6:39 into the third period. Four fighting penalties were dished out along with two game misconducts.

The Corvairs forced the Panthers' netminders to work between the pipes, finishing with 71 shots and forcing 53 saves. Tynan Lauziere made nine stops and Daniel Kocsis made 44. Caledonia stifled Pelham's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

Caledonia additionally got points from Jordan Peacock, who also had two goals and two assists, Justin Abraham, who also tallied one goal and two assists, Kyle Tanev, who also registered two goals and five assists to lead the team in points, Erick Delaurentis, who also grabbed one goal and three assists, Ryan Blunt, who also finished with two goals and one assist, Mitch Purdie, who also had two goals and two assists, Cosimo Fontana, who also registered one goal and one assist, Jake Brown, who also tallied one goal and two assists, Hore, who also racked up three goals and three assists, and Jacob Buch, who also had one goal and two assists. More assists for Caledonia came via Nathan Gomes, who had four, Riley Vanhorne, Anton Trublin, and Austin McEneny, who contributed one each, and Luke Sinclair and Jayme Forslund, who each chipped in two.

Kevin Entmaa rejected 15 shots on goal for the Corvairs. Caledonia totaled 24 minutes in penalty time with seven minors and two majors and went 3-for-7 on the power play. Team's McEneny and Buch were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game. The Panthers ended with 28 minutes in penalty time with four minors and two majors. For Pelham, Jesse Hewak and Thomas Young were ejected from the contest.
