Caledonia pulls away in second, rolls over Pelham, 6-0Haldimand Center Fri, Feb 27, 2015 Story by Narrative Science.
The Caledonia Corvairs scored three goals in the second period to pull away from the Pelham Panthers and clinch a 6-0 win. The win gave Caledonia a 2-0 lead in the best of seven series. Matthew Hore had two goals to lead the Corvairs to victory. Hore's tallies came at 17:49 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Caledonia and 24 seconds into the second to make the score 2-0 Caledonia. Caledonia stifled Pelham's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Corvairs' offense rang up 67 shots on the Panthers' net. Caledonia also got points from Mitch Purdie, who also registered one goal and one assist. Caledonia also got a goal from Nathan Gomes as well. More assists for Caledonia came via Kyle Tanev, Erick Delaurentis, Ryan Blunt, Anton Trublin, and Austin McEneny, who contributed one each and Jordan Peacock, Jake Brown, and Tyler Lepore, who each chipped in two. Pelham excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in six chances. Caledonia's defense shut down the Panthers' forwards for much of the game, and Pelham got off only 13 shots during the contest. Marc Sinclair recorded 13 saves for the Corvairs. Caledonia incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. Tynan Lauziere made 61 saves for the Panthers on 67 shots. Pelham incurred 24 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
