Caledonia uses big second period to beat Pelham, 7-1Pelham Meridian CC Wed, Feb 25, 2015 Story by Narrative Science.
The Pelham Panthers allowed the Caledonia Corvairs to net four goals during the second period and fell, 7-1. The win gave Caledonia a 1-0 lead in the best of seven series. Matthew Hore was all over the ice for the Corvairs, as he tallied two goals and two assists in the win. Hore scored the first of his two goals at 17:38 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Caledonia. Erick Delaurentis picked up the assist. Hore's next tally made the score 3-0 Caledonia with 9:20 left in the second period. Todd Ratchford provided the assist. Caledonia stifled Pelham's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Corvairs forced the Panthers goalie Tynan Lauziere to work between the pipes, taking 56 shots. Caledonia also got points from Kyle Tanev, who also grabbed one goal and one assist and Delaurentis, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Caledonia included Mitch Purdie, Tyler Lepore, and Austin McEneny, who each put in one. In addition, Caledonia received assists from Jordan Peacock, Justin Abraham, Ryan Blunt, and Cosimo Fontana, who each chipped in one and Luke Sinclair and Anton Trublin, who contributed two each. Caledonia's defense shut down Pelham's forwards for much of the game, and the Panthers got off only 11 shots during the contest. The Corvairs' Kevin Entmaa stopped 10 shots out of the 11 that he faced. Caledonia incurred 54 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Tynan Lauziere made 49 saves for Pelham on 56 shots. The Panthers incurred 58 minutes in penalty time with nine minors.
