M1 Adrian College beats M1 Davenport University 4-2 after comeback scare

The M1 Davenport University Panthers tried their best to erase a three-goal deficit, but the M1 Adrian College Bulldogs would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 4-2.

A goal by Alex Dobrzeniecki put M1 Adrian College up 4-1 in the third period, but M1 Davenport University pulled to within two on Everett Thompson's tally 13:30 into the third period.

The Panthers' power play was ineffective against the Bulldogs' penalty kill, which allowed one goal while shorthanded.

M1 Adrian College could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 20 minutes in penalties during the game. The Bulldogs put 34 shots on net during the contest, more than the 0.7 they average per game.

M1 Adrian College was led by Chris Derochie, who had one goal and one assist. Derochie scored 16:08 into the second period to make the score 3-1 M1 Adrian College. Brad Kobryn picked up the assist. M1 Adrian College additionally got points from Dobrzeniecki, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Others who scored for M1 Adrian College included Justin Fisher and Robert Bodette, who scored one goal each. In addition, M1 Adrian College received assists from Andre Rakas, Ted Anstett, and Erik Alden, who contributed one each.

M1 Davenport University struggled to stay out of the sin bin throughout the game as it finished the game with 18 penalty minutes for six opposing power plays. With 32 shots on target during the contest, the Panthers exceeded the 2.8 shots they average per game this year.

Kody Polin also scored for M1 Davenport University. Other players who recorded assists for M1 Davenport University were Luke Mccarthy, Chris Eckler, and Jordan Simmonds, who each chipped in one.

Austyn Roudebush recorded 30 saves for the Bulldogs. Matt Kaludis rejected 30 shots on goal for M1 Davenport University.
