A goal by Thomas Brooks put M1 West Virginia University up 4-1 in the third period, but M1 Mercyhurst University pulled to within two on Patrick Dolan's tally 17:38 into the third period. James Murray had one goal and two assists to lead the Mountaineers. Murray scored on the power play 18:03 into the second period to make the score 2-1 M1 West Virginia University. A roughing penalty on Matthew Bour had put M1 West Virginia University on the power play. Joseph Baker picked up the assist.
