Toronto Jr. Canadiens rips Burlington, 8-1

The Toronto Jr. Canadiens Junior Canadiens were firing on all cylinders against the Burlington Cougars, and when the final buzzer sounded Junior Canadiens emerged with an 8-1 win.

Kevin Hancock had two goals and two assists to lead Toronto Jr. Canadiens. Hancock scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 3:33 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Toronto Jr. Canadiens. Justin Maiolino picked up the assist. Hancock's next tally on the power play made the score 4-1 Toronto Jr. Canadiens with 10:14 left in the second period. The Junior Canadiens had taken the advantage when Burlington's David Thomson got sent off for kneeing. Maiolino assisted on the tally.

Toronto Jr. Canadiens excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. The Junior Canadiens kept the Cougars' goalie busy throughout the game, and Joe Noonan made 36 saves on 44 shots. Toronto Jr. Canadiens found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. The Junior Canadiens have scored at the pace of 3.4 goals per game during the current campaign.

Toronto Jr. Canadiens also got points from Maiolino, who also had one goal and three assists and Nicholas Jarzabek, who also finished with one goal and four assists to lead the team in points. Others who scored for Toronto Jr. Canadiens included Andrew Pucci, who had two and Adam DeLuca and Sal Filice, who each put in one. In addition, Toronto Jr. Canadiens received assists from Kennedy Duguid, Ryan MacSpadyen, and Michael Cuddemi, who contributed one each and Luca Farrace and Ryan Kruss, who each chipped in two.

Burlington could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 18 minutes in penalties during the game.

The Cougars were led by Louis Vlahakis, who scored the team's only goal. Vlahakis scored 6:25 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Toronto Jr. Canadiens. Ben Morris picked up the assist.

Daniel Lopapa made 23 saves for Toronto Jr. Canadiens on 24 shots. The Junior Canadiens incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
