Exeter boosted by Morreau's play in net, beats Mt.Brydges 4-1

The Exeter Hawks relied on the sparkling performance of James Morreau in net to grab a 4-1 win against the Mt.Brydges Bulldogs.

The win gave Exeter a 2-0 lead in the best of seven series.

The Hawks' penalty kill excelled, as Exeter gave up one goal despite allowing six power plays.

The Hawks were led by Chase Thornton, who racked up one goal. Thornton scored short handed 1:34 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Exeter. Tyler Kettler picked up the assist.

Exeter forced Mt.Brydges goalie Paul Town to work between the pipes, taking 35 shots.

Exeter additionally got points from Max Naus, who also registered one goal and one assist and Tyler Coleman, who also finished with one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Exeter also got a goal from Cam Dykstra as well. In addition, Exeter received assists from Jake Harrison and Tyler McNaughton, who each chipped in one.

The Bulldogs were led by Joey Doxtator (APM), who scored the team's only goal. Doxtator (APM) scored on the power play 6:42 into the third period to make the score 3-1 Exeter. Mt.Brydges had taken the advantage when the Hawks' Morreau got sent off for roughing. Antoine Brochu provided the assist.

Morreau recorded 26 saves for Exeter. The Hawks incurred 26 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. Paul Town made 31 saves for the Bulldogs on 35 shots. Mt.Brydges incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with three minors.
