Schurr's hat trick boosts Lambeth over Dorchester, 8-2

Matt Schurr lifted the Lambeth Lancers to an 8-2 victory with a hat trick against the Dorchester Dolphins.

Schurr notched his first tally 13:32 into the second period. He then added goals at 17:51 into the second and at 1:17 into the third.

The win moved Lambeth to down 2-1 in the best of seven series.

The Lancers forced Dolphins' goaltenders to work between the pipes, getting 49 shots and forcing 41 saves. Kent Taylor made 29 stops and Mike Lindner made 12.

Lambeth also got points from Jordan Rear, who also registered two goals and one assist, Jay Ritchie, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, Warren Hargraves, who also finished with one goal and two assists, and Mike Frizzell, who also racked up one goal and one assist. In addition, Lambeth received assists from Kale Corbeth, who had two and Keith Arnold, Josh Bumpus, Ryan Pennington, Randy Hicks, and Cleo Gubbels, who each chipped in one.

Dorchester's offense rang up 32 shots on Lambeth's net.

The Dolphins were helped by Lucas Mastroianni, who had one goal and one assist. Mastroianni scored 3:01 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Lambeth. Tyler Kerr picked up the assist. Dorchester additionally got points from Kerr, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for Dorchester were Patrick Freel, who had one.

The Lancers' JP Trudell stopped 30 shots out of the 32 that he faced. Lambeth incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Dorchester incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. For the Dolphins, Wade Russell was ejected from the game.
