The Grimsby Peach Kings survived a determined comeback attempt by the Hagersville Hawks on the way to a 3-1 win. A goal by Jeromy Hopkins put Grimsby up 3-0 in the third period, but Hagersville pulled to within two on Nick Sherwood's tally 19:19 into the third period. The win by the Peach Kings clinched the best of seven series at 4-1. The Hawks were stymied by Grimsby's netminder Marcus Hlywka, who stopped 39 shots during the victory. Hlywka managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 1.66 prior to the game. The Peach Kings' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five Hagersville power plays. Hagersville was unable to stop Grimsby from sending pucks towards the net, and the Peach Kings eventually piled up 42 shots on goal. Grimsby was helped by Griffin Roubos, who finished with one goal. Roubos scored on the power play 9:41 into the third period to make the score 2-0 Grimsby. A checking from behind penalty on Brett Dykstra had put the Peach Kings on the power play. Curtis Jacques assisted on the tally. Grimsby also got a goal from Matthew Jambrosich as well. In addition, Grimsby received assists from Brennan Smith, who had one and Garnet McComber, who had two. The Hawks' offense rang up 40 shots on Grimsby's net. Other players who recorded assists for Hagersville were Dan Mederios, who had one. The Peach Kings incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Curtis Dortenzio made 39 saves for Hagersville on 42 shots. The Hawks incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. Team's Dykstra and Jonathan Pace were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game.
