Garnet McComber had two goals and one assist to lead the Grimsby Peach Kings to a 3-0 victory over the Hagersville Hawks. McComber scored at 19:49 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Grimsby and again while 17:42 into the second to make the score 2-0 Grimsby.The win gave Grimsby a 2-0 lead in the best of seven series. The Peach Kings were boosted by Marcus Hlywka, who turned in a shutout with 26 saves. Hlywka certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 1.24 entering the contest. Grimsby stifled Hagersville's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Peach Kings forced the Hawks goalie Curtis Dortenzio to work between the pipes, taking 40 shots. Brennan Smith also scored for Grimsby. In addition, Grimsby received assists from Joshua Kozielski, Matthew Jambrosich, Nicholas Purves, and Curtis Jacques, who contributed one each. Hagersville put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Grimsby to score on any of its 10 power plays. The Peach Kings incurred 42 minutes in penalty time with 11 minors. Curtis Dortenzio made 37 saves for the Hawks on 40 shots. Hagersville incurred 46 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. Team's Jacob Bianchi and Mitch Green were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game.
