Dundas downs Dunnville, 7-3Dunnville Memorial Arena Fri, Feb 20, 2015 Story by Narrative Science.
The Dundas Blues took home the 7-3 victory over the Dunnville Jr. Mudcats. The win gave Dundas a 2-0 lead in the best of seven series. The Blues' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five Dunnville power plays. Dundas was helped by Cam McConnell, who had one goal. McConnell scored 17:15 into the second period to make the score 4-2 Dundas. Connor King picked up the assist. Dundas also got points from Kevin Jaczenko, who also registered one goal and one assist, Matt Johnson, who also finished with one goal and one assist, and Alex Aquin, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Dundas included Joey Sullivan, Ray Thompson, and Mitch Moriarity, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Dundas were Phoenix Schueler, Luke Laurin, and Zac Mihalis, who contributed one each. Dunnville put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Blues to score on any of their four power plays. The Jr. Mudcats' offense rang up 35 shots on Dundas' net. Dunnville was led by Damien Lalonde, who tallied three goals. In addition, Dunnville received assists from Josh Meeuwse, who had one and Mack Steele and Chad Springer, who contributed two each. Brock Novak rejected 32 shots on goal for the Blues. Dundas incurred 32 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Josh Rosettani recorded 20 saves for the Jr. Mudcats. Dunnville incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
