Alliston outlasts Orillia, 4-2

In a game where neither team could get a cushion, the Alliston Hornets escaped with a 4-2 victory over the Orillia Terriers.

Neither team gained more than a two-goal lead, and Jacob Tuck's goal in the second period proved to be the difference maker.

The win gave Alliston a 2-0 lead in the best of seven series.

The Hornets were sparked by Tuck, who registered one goal and one assist. Tuck scored 19:15 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Alliston. Jamie Bennett assisted on the tally.

Alliston kept Orillia's goalie busy throughout the game, and Gordie Weiss made 43 saves on 47 shots.

Alliston additionally got points from Connor Annett, who also finished with one goal and one assist and Joe Cochrane, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Alliston also got a goal from Brendan Spencer as well. More assists for Alliston came via Payton Dunlop, who had one and Nick Arcan, who had two.

The Terriers' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on seven Alliston power plays.

Orillia was helped by Jordan Felix, who had one goal. Felix scored on the power play 17:43 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Orillia. A roughing penalty on Spencer had put the Terriers on the power play. Sean Crowe provided the assist. Jacob Beard also scored for Orillia. In addition, Orillia received assists from Brock Welsh, who had one.

Tyler Brindle made 24 saves for the Hornets on 26 shots. Alliston incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. For the Hornets, Annett was ejected from the game. Orillia incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with 11 minors.
