Lawrence's hat trick boosts Port Hope over Picton, 8-4

Dalton Lawrence netted a hat trick to lead the Port Hope Panthers over the Picton Pirates, 8-4.

Lawrence's first goal came 3:28 into the first period. He then added goals at 9:45 into the first and at 4:04 into the third.

After the loss made the series score 3-0 in the best of seven series, Picton faces elimination next time out.

Port Hope forced the Pirates' goalies to work between the pipes, ripping 41 shots and forcing 33 saves. Matt Loveys made three stops and Nick Kazmierczak made 30.

Port Hope additionally got points from Dylan Baxter, who also tallied one goal and two assists. Port Hope also had goals scored by Liam Rowe, who had two and Nathan Snoek and Kallen McFarland, who scored one goal each. In addition, Port Hope received assists from Tyler Davey, who had four and Josh Cameron, Connor Turland, Hunter Baker, Chandler Gillespie, and Mike Smith, who each chipped in one.

Picton was helped by Brian Bunnett, who had one goal and one assist. Bunnett scored 14:32 into the second period to make the score 5-4 Port Hope. David Hopfer provided the assist. Picton also got points from Mitchell Merry, who also registered one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Curtis Colbary also scored for Picton. Other players who recorded assists for Picton were Austin Labelle, who had one.

Devan Tremblay took the win and made 21 saves before being replaced by Branson Schell who made five saves. The Panthers incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. The Pirates incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with 10 minors.
