Kincardine survives penalties, beats Wingham, 5-2

The Kincardine Bulldogs, which found themselves down a man often, weathered the Wingham Ironmen's power play opportunities and emerged with a 5-2 victory.

With the win, Kincardine evened the series at 1-1 in the best of seven showdown.

The Bulldogs were led by Mike Osadca, who grabbed one goal. Osadca scored 17:13 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Kincardine. Shawn Moore provided the assist.

Kincardine also got points from Moore, who also had one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Others who scored for Kincardine included Jordan Van Haelemeesch, Jordan Bell, and Sam Feagan, who scored one goal each. In addition, Kincardine received assists from Chad Simpson, who had two and Alex Labrosse, Gerrit Satosek, Mike Smailes, and Patrick Wiejak, who each chipped in one.

Wingham was led by Alex Kuntz, who registered one goal. Kuntz scored on the power play 14:13 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Kincardine. The Ironmen had gained a power play chance when Simpson was whistled for boarding. Greg Scott picked up the assist. Bailey Poels also scored for Wingham. More assists for Wingham came via Josh Stewart and Jeremy Ross, who contributed one each.

Mitch Campbell made 23 saves for Kincardine on 25 shots. The Bulldogs totaled 41 minutes in penalty time with 13 minors and one major and went 2-for-8 on the power play. For Kincardine, Collin Whitfield was ejected from the game. Jaden Shrier recorded 23 saves for Wingham. The Ironmen incurred 34 minutes in penalty time with 12 minors.
