Brad Down gave the Clarington Eagles a 1-0 (OT) victory over the Lakefield Chiefs when he scored 8:59 into the extra period.

The win gave Clarington a 2-0 lead in the best of seven series.

Connor Visca spearheaded the defensive effort for the Eagles, as he did not allow a puck past him and made 41 saves for the shutout. Visca managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 0.47 prior to the game.

Clarington stifled Lakefield's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

In addition, Clarington received assists from Jarod Hollister, who had one.

The Chiefs' offense rang up 41 shots on the Eagles' net.

Clarington incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Zach Wainman made 22 saves for Lakefield on 23 shots. The Chiefs incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
