The Lakefield Chiefs tried their best to erase a two-goal deficit, but the Clarington Eagles would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 2-1. A goal by Brodie Myers put Clarington up 2-0 in the third period, but Lakefield pulled to within one on Eric Oosting's tally 14:56 into the third period. The win gave the Eagles a 1-0 lead in the best of seven series. Clarington pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 32 penalty minutes. The Eagles were led by Myers, who grabbed one goal. Myers scored 3:48 into the third period to make the score 2-0 Clarington. Clarington stifled the Chiefs' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Brad Down also scored for Clarington. More assists for Clarington came via Jake Carter, who had one. Lakefield's power play was punchless, and failed to score a single goal despite having 10 power play opportunities. In addition, Lakefield received assists from Travis Brault, who had one. Connor Visca rejected 22 shots on goal for the Eagles. Clarington registered one goal on four power play opportunities. The Chiefs' Zach Wainman stopped 26 shots out of the 28 that he faced. Lakefield incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with nine minors.
