Campbell's big game bests M1 Canisius College in 6-2 M1 Indiana Univ of Pennsylvania win

Connor Campbell had two goals and two assists to lead the M1 Indiana Univ of Pennsylvania Crimson Hawks to a 6-2 victory over the M1 Canisius College Golden Griffins.

Campbell scored short handed at 9:15 into the second period to make the score 3-1 M1 Indiana Univ of Pennsylvania and again while 8:36 into the third to make the score 5-1 M1 Indiana Univ of Pennsylvania.

M1 Indiana Univ of Pennsylvania put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow M1 Canisius College to score on any of its four power plays. The Crimson Hawks put 26 shots on net during the contest, more than the 0.2 they average per game. M1 Indiana Univ of Pennsylvania found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. This season, the Crimson Hawks average 3.6 goals per contest.

M1 Indiana Univ of Pennsylvania also got points from Adam Kondraski, who also tallied one goal and one assist, Jordan Ducko, who also registered one goal and one assist, and Nick Harrison, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Andrew Herbert also scored for M1 Indiana Univ of Pennsylvania. In addition, M1 Indiana Univ of Pennsylvania received assists from Douglas Fox, Tanner Gilliland, and Alex Stoll, who each chipped in one.

The Golden Griffins were held below their usual level of production. M1 Canisius College puts an average of 4.6 pucks into the net per game. The Golden Griffins' offense was clicking better than usual and put 35 shots on goal during the game, better than the 0.5 shots per game they average.

M1 Canisius College was helped by Jess Hackett, who finished with one goal. Hackett scored 8:19 into the first period to make the score 1-0 M1 Canisius College. Steve Gentner provided the assist. M1 Canisius College also got a goal from Matthew Madden as well. More assists for M1 Canisius College came via Stan Pawlow, who had one and Matthew Muszynski, who had two.

M1 Indiana Univ of Pennsylvania's Sean Thompson stopped 33 shots out of the 35 that he faced. The Crimson Hawks totaled 24 minutes in penalty time with two minors and two majors and went 0-for-1 on the power play. M1 Indiana Univ of Pennsylvania ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Sean Beichner was ejected from the game. Bret Gilmour rejected 20 shots on goal for the Golden Griffins. M1 Canisius College incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
