Nickel City Sons tried to dig itself out of a three-goal hole, but York Simcoe Express held on for a 4-2 victory. York Simcoe Express made the score 4-1 on a goal by Justin Harbaruk at 13:58 in the second period, and Nickel City Sons got as close as 4-2 when Samuel Saumure scored 1:11 into the third period. York Simcoe Express pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 14 penalty minutes. York Simcoe Express put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Nickel City Sons to score on any of its six power plays. York Simcoe Express kept Nickel City Sons' goalie busy throughout the game, and Owen Kilganon made 32 saves on 36 shots. York Simcoe Express was helped by Tyler Challis, who had one goal. Challis scored 4:05 into the first period to make the score 1-0 York Simcoe Express. Quinton Byfield picked up the assist.
