Robinson nets hat trick, leads Penetang to 5-1 win over Caledon

Craig Robinson netted a hat trick to lead the Penetang Kings over the Caledon Golden Hawks, 5-1.

Robinson notched his first tally 16:40 into the first period. He then added goals at 14:06 into the second and at 11:08 into the third.

The win gave Penetang a 2-0 lead in the best of seven series.

Penetang also had goals scored by Kyle Dedecker and Mackenzie Bumstead, who each put in one. More assists for Penetang came via Matt Meher, who had two and Brandon Frandsen, Kyle Burns, Jordan Schwartz, Brad Kuepfer, Jessey Moreau, and Matt VanBoven, who each chipped in one.

Caledon was led by James Pitsadiotis, who scored the team's only goal. Pitsadiotis scored on the power play 8:26 into the first period to make the score 1-1. The Golden Hawks had gotten the advantage when the Kings' Kaden Shearer was sent off for slashing. Daniel Cafagna assisted on the tally.

Penetang's Adam Redgate stopped 19 shots out of the 20 that he faced. The Kings incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Sam Procopio made 20 saves for Caledon on 25 shots. The Golden Hawks incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Caledon ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Christian Mariconda was ejected from the game.
