Ryan Hyndman finished with one point to lead the Stayner Siskins to a 5-1 victory over the Orillia Terriers.

The win gave Stayner a 1-0 lead in the best of seven series.

The Siskins stifled Orillia's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Terriers were unable to stop Stayner from sending pucks towards the net, and the Siskins eventually piled up 40 shots on goal.

Stayner additionally got points from Quinten Bruce, who also registered one goal and one assist and Ricky Darrell, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Stayner also had goals scored by Jamieson Buck and Brandon Watson, who scored one goal each. In addition, Stayner received assists from Kyle Lafreniere and Ryan Hudson, who each chipped in one and Derick Robertson and Sean Healy, who contributed two each.

Orillia was led by Sean Crowe, who scored the team's only goal. Crowe scored 2:05 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Tyler Mason assisted on the tally.

Stayner's Trevor Bloch stopped 17 shots out of the 18 that he faced. The Siskins incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Gordie Weiss rejected 35 shots on goal for the Terriers. Orillia incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
