Mt.Brydges downs Port Stanley in overtime, 7-6 (OT)

The Mt.Brydges Bulldogs' Cameron Jowett scored 7:51 into overtime to beat the Port Stanley Sailors, 7-6 (OT).

After the loss made the series score 3-0 in the best of seven series, Port Stanley faces elimination next time out.

The Sailors fell victim to a deadly Mt.Brydges power play, which ripped Port Stanley for four goals.

The Bulldogs kept the Sailors' goalie busy throughout the game, and Dylan Hoover made 45 saves on 52 shots. Mt.Brydges' defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in three goals.

The Bulldogs were helped by Tyler Lockwood, who registered three goals. Mt.Brydges additionally got points from Sean Candler, who also tallied one goal and four assists to lead the team in points, Antoine Brochu, who also had one goal and one assist, and Carter Murphy, who also racked up one goal and three assists. Other players who recorded assists for Mt.Brydges were Carson Kennes, who had four and Brody Smith and Adam Deseure, who contributed one each.

Port Stanley's offense rang up 41 shots on Mt.Brydges' net.

The Sailors were led by Tyler Beaulieu, who registered two goals and two assists. Beaulieu scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 6:36 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Mt.Brydges. Port Stanley had gotten the advantage when the Bulldogs' Lockwood was sent off for hooking. Anders Adzija picked up the assist. Beaulieu's next tally on the power play made the score 6-5 Port Stanley with 14:09 left in the third period. Port Stanley also got points from Adzija, who also tallied two goals and one assist. Port Stanley also had goals scored by Tanner Turley and James McHugh, who each put in one. In addition, Port Stanley received assists from Ryan McDonnell, who had two and Zachary Zinga, Alex Weaver, Cal Horvat, and Christian Athanasiou, who each chipped in one.

Aidan Brown made 35 saves for Mt.Brydges on 41 shots. The Bulldogs incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Mt.Brydges ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Cameron Dewan was ejected from the game. The Sailors incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
