Aylmer erases deficit to stun Lambeth, 4-3

Undaunted by a two-goal deficit, the Aylmer Spitfires battled back to claim a 4-3 victory over the Lambeth Lancers.

Aylmer let multiple leads slip away before eventually digging out of a two hole to pick up the win. The Spitfires took a 3-2 advantage on a power play goal by Jacob Jammes at 13:19 in the third period. Aylmer went down 2-0 after Lambeth's Warren Hargraves put the puck home at 6:07 in the second period. After evening things up at 3-3 on a power play goal by Kale Corbeth at 15:38 in the third, the Spitfires got the game-winner from Cody Underhill at 19:40 in the third period.

The win by Aylmer broke a deadlock and gave the Spitfires a 2-1 advantage in the best of seven series.

Underhill had a great game for Aylmer, netting two goals.

Team could not crack the Lancers' penalty kill and was held to two power play goals while having 10 opportunities to play with the man advantage.

Aylmer also got a goal from Dylan Salter as well. In addition, Aylmer received assists from Luke Bettencourt, who had two and Clint Walker and Andrew Goldberg, who contributed one each.

Lambeth forced the Spitfires goalie Lucas Easterbrook to work between the pipes, taking 47 shots.

Lambeth additionally got points from Corbeth, who also tallied one goal and one assist and Matt Schurr, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for Lambeth were Eric Rivard, who had one.

Easterbrook rejected 44 shots on goal for Aylmer. The Spitfires incurred 28 minutes in penalty time with nine minors. JP Trudell recorded 26 saves for the Lancers. Lambeth incurred 30 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
