The game between the Lambeth Lancers and the Aylmer Spitfires was tight through all 60 minutes, but in the end Lambeth emerged with a 5-3 win. No lead was more than two goals during the contest, and the winning goal was scored by Ryan Pennington at 7:49 of the second period. The win gave the Lancers a 1-0 lead in the best of seven series. Lambeth was paced on offense by Matt Schurr and Kale Corbeth, who combined for four points. Schurr registered two goals and Corbeth also added one goal and one assist. Aylmer was doomed by its poor performance on special teams, as the Lancers were able to score four times while on the power play. Other players who recorded assists for Lambeth were Jay Ritchie, who had one and Warren Hargraves, who had two. Aylmer was helped by Andrew Goldberg, who had two goals. Goldberg scored the first of his two goals at 1:10 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Aylmer. Luke Bettencourt provided the assist. Goldberg's next tally made the score 2-0 Aylmer with 8:16 left in the first period. Jacob Jammes picked up the assist. Aylmer also got points from Dylan Salter, who also registered one goal and one assist. JP Trudell made 27 saves for the Lancers on 30 shots. Lambeth incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. The Spitfires' Easterbrook stopped 28 shots out of the 33 that he faced. Aylmer incurred 28 minutes in penalty time with nine minors.
