Glanbrook's Pace deadly on offense in 6-3 win against Hagersville

Josh Pace had two goals to lead the Glanbrook Rangers to a 6-3 victory over the Hagersville Hawks.

Pace scored on the power play at 6:46 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Glanbrook and again while on the power play 8:45 into the third to make the score 4-2 Glanbrook.

After the loss made the series score 3-2 in the best of seven series, Hagersville faces elimination next time out.

Glanbrook excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. The Hawks were unable to stop the Rangers from sending pucks towards the net, and Glanbrook eventually piled up 38 shots on goal. The defensemen of the Rangers were also effective in Hagersville's zone, and came away with two goals.

Glanbrook also got points from Chris Haigh, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Garnet Batrynchuk also scored for Glanbrook. In addition, Glanbrook received assists from Jacob Comley, Drew Jedrzejewicz, Anthony Whitwell, Curtis Edwards, Jeff May, Brad Parish, Noah Matteson, Owen Norton, and Nathan Fiorino, who contributed one each.

The Hawks kept Glanbrook's goalie busy throughout the game, and Matthew Venturelli made 35 saves on 38 shots.

Hagersville was helped by Cole Martin, who registered one goal. Martin scored 15:54 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Glanbrook. Matt Rimac assisted on the tally. Hagersville also had goals scored by Jacob Bianchi and Nick Sherwood, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Hagersville were Mitch Green and Jacob Solomon, who each chipped in one.

The Rangers incurred 34 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Curtis Dortenzio rejected 32 shots on goal for the Hawks. Hagersville incurred 60 minutes in penalty time with 10 minors. For the Hawks, Dan Pugliese was ejected from the game.
