The Hagersville Hawks gutted out a close 6-4 win against the Glanbrook Rangers. Hagersville gained the winning advantage on a goal by Dan Mederios 8:20 into the third period and hung on until final buzzer. With the win, the Hawks evened the series at 2-2 in the best of seven showdown. Derek Friesen was all over the ice for Hagersville, as he tallied two goals and one assist in the win. Friesen scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 6:54 into the third period to make the score 4-4. A cross checking penalty on Owen Norton had put the Hawks on the power play. Brett Dykstra picked up the assist. Friesen's next tally on the power play made the score 6-4 Hagersville with 5:49 left in the third period. Hagersville had taken the advantage when Glanbrook's Kyle Dumais got sent off for tripping. Mitch Green provided the assist. The Hawks' offense rang up 42 shots on the Rangers' net. Hagersville also got points from Matt Lemasurier, who also racked up one goal and one assist, Green, who also had one goal and one assist, and Nick Sherwood, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for Hagersville were Horia Lucaciu, Zach Maciel, Brayden Hill, Cole Martin, and Matt Rimac, who contributed one each. Glanbrook forced Hawks' goaltenders to work between the pipes, taking 39 shots and forcing 35 saves. Curtis Dortenzio made eight stops and Lucaciu made 27. The Rangers got an offensive boost from their blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game. Glanbrook was helped by Nathan Fiorino, who registered one goal. Fiorino scored on the power play 13:03 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Glanbrook. The Rangers had gotten the advantage when Hagersville's Sherwood was sent off for charging. Drew Jedrzejewicz picked up the assist. Glanbrook also got a goal from Joel Tivanian as well. In addition, Glanbrook received assists from Jeff May, who had two and Garnet Batrynchuk, Brad Parish, Noah Matteson, and Chad Carey, who each chipped in one. The Hawks incurred 26 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. Jay Payton made 36 saves for Glanbrook on 42 shots. The Rangers incurred 26 minutes in penalty time with eight minors.
