The Niagara Riverhawks had trouble finding ways to stop the Dunnville Jr. Mudcats, which beat Riverhawks, 7-2. The win by Dunnville clinched the best of seven series at 4-0. The Jr. Mudcats were paced by Josh Phibbs, who had one goal. Phibbs scored 4:36 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Dunnville. Brandon Dear provided the assist. Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 7:33 into the second period. Four fighting penalties were dished out along with two game misconducts. Dunnville forced Niagara's goaltenders to work between the pipes, taking 39 shots and forcing 32 saves. Sebastian Iannone made 28 stops and Scott Charanduk made four. The Jr. Mudcats excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. Dunnville also got points from Josh Meeuwse, who also finished with two goals and one assist, Steven Czepek, who also registered one goal and one assist, and Mack Steele, who also grabbed one goal and two assists. Dunnville also had goals scored by Travis Sheldrake and Chad Springer, who each put in one. More assists for Dunnville came via Luke Rowe, who had two, Damien Lalonde, who had three, and Bret Golding, Mark Topp, and Matt Dolan, who each chipped in one. The Riverhawks put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Dunnville to score on any of its eight power plays. Niagara kept the Jr. Mudcats' goalie busy throughout the game, and Josh Rosettani made 38 saves on 40 shots. The Riverhawks were led by Alex Cipriano, who tallied one goal and one assist. Cipriano scored 5:20 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Dunnville. Kyle Robertson picked up the assist. Niagara also got a goal from Dawson Ethier as well. In addition, Niagara received assists from Dylan Lazarus, who had one. Dunnville ended with 15 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major. For the Jr. Mudcats, Jeff May was ejected from the game. Niagara ended with 37 minutes in penalty time with six minors and one major. The Riverhawks ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Lucas Marcon was ejected from the game.
