Dundas rides Davies to victory over Port Dover, 4-1

A stellar performance between the pipes by Dan Davies helped the Dundas Blues defeat the Port Dover Sailors, 4-1.

After the loss made the series score 3-1 in the best of seven series, Port Dover faces elimination next time out.

Dundas was paced by Matt Johnson, who racked up one goal and one assist. Johnson scored on the power play 5:11 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Dundas. A roughing penalty on Jacob Miller had put the Blues on the power play. Braxton Andrews assisted on the tally.

The Sailors were unable to stop Dundas from sending pucks towards the net, and the Blues eventually piled up 44 shots on goal. Dundas capitalized on Port Dover's penalties, netting two goals while skating with a man advantage.

Dundas also got points from Kevin Jaczenko, who also finished with two goals and one assist to lead the team in points. Jake Bain also scored for Dundas. More assists for Dundas came via Dan Pelosini and Alex Aquin, who each chipped in one.

The Sailors were led by Josh Turberfield, who scored the team's only goal. Turberfield scored on the power play 19:03 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Port Dover. Port Dover earned a power play opportunity when Andrews was put in the box for roughing. Michael Boateng picked up the assist.

Davies rejected 26 shots on goal for the Blues. Dundas incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Mike Caluori recorded 40 saves for the Sailors. Port Dover incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
