The Port Dover Sailors could not stop the Dundas Blues' Cooper Richards, who tallied a hat trick in a 6-2 win. Richards' first goal came 8:01 into the second period. He then added goals at 13:55 into the second and at 15:34 into the third.The win gave Dundas a 1-0 lead in the best of seven series. The Blues' penalty kill excelled, as Dundas gave up one goal despite allowing six power plays. The Blues forced Port Dover goalie Mike Caluori to work between the pipes, taking 65 shots. The defensemen of Dundas were also effective in the Sailors' zone, and came away with four goals. Dundas also got points from Cam McConnell, who also racked up one goal and three assists. Dundas also had goals scored by Thomas Dowling and Liam Hurley, who scored one goal each. More assists for Dundas came via Connor King, who had four and Dan Pelosini, Mitch Moriarity, Matt Johnson, and Zac Mihalis, who each chipped in one. Port Dover stifled the Blues' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Sailors' offense rang up 32 shots on Dundas' net. Port Dover was led by Michael Boateng, who registered one goal and one assist. Boateng scored 7:10 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Port Dover. Josh Turberfield provided the assist. Eric Mueller also scored for Port Dover. Other players who recorded assists for Port Dover were Colin Streutker, who had one. Brock Novak recorded 30 saves for the Blues. Dundas incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. The Sailors' Caluori stopped 59 shots out of the 65 that he faced. Port Dover ended with nine minutes in penalty time with two minors and one major. The Sailors ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Nick Chiarot was ejected from the game.
