Lakeshore downs Dresden, 8-5

The Lakeshore Canadiens won 8-5 over the Dresden Kings.

After the loss made the series score 3-2 in the best of seven series, Dresden faces elimination next time out.

Lakeshore forced Kings' goalies to work hard to keep the puck out of the net, launching 48 shots and forcing 40 saves. Daniel Tonietto made 19 stops and Scott Tricker made 21. The Canadiens' defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals.

The Kings' offense rang up 32 shots on Lakeshore's net.

Dresden was led by Will Tetzlaff, who tallied two goals and one assist. Tetzlaff scored the first of his two goals at 12:21 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Ross Krieger provided the assist. Tetzlaff's next tally made the score 6-2 Lakeshore with 1:08 left in the second period. A high sticking penalty on Cameron MacDougall had put the Kings on the power play. Jim McKinlay picked up the assist. Dresden additionally got points from Krieger, who also had one goal and one assist. Austin Bentley also scored for Dresden. In addition, Dresden received assists from Derek Daly, who had two and Derek Shaw, Derrick VanEvery, Justin Melo, and Steven Funk, who contributed one each.

Colin Tetreault made 27 saves for the Canadiens on 32 shots. Lakeshore incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. For the Canadiens, Mejoe Gasparovic was ejected from the game. Dresden incurred 68 minutes in penalty time with nine minors. For the Kings, Taylor Sisson and John Montgomery were ejected from the contest.
